SOC Robotics has been selling and shipping it's 1st and 2nd generation Inertial Measurement products for over eight years. We started developing our 3rd generation Inertial Measurement Technology in the fall of 2014. HandSense, a real time hand/finger tracking technology, was one of the outcomes of that development along with BodySense for full body inertial Mocap, RTLS for real time asset tracking and IoT Environmental Measurement technology.

When Microsoft announced the Hololens in early 2015 SOC Robotics signed up to the Insider Program and proposed integrating HandSense with the Hololens. The ability to track hand/finger gestures inertially was missing from the Hololens. SOC received it's Hololens as part of the Wave 4 shipments in July of 2016. Since then SOC Robotics has developed over ten Hololens applications integrating HandSense, several of which will be demonstrated at the event.

AR is cutting edge with an increasing amount of development companies looking at the “media integration” production ability using products such as Microsoft Hololens (in the market), Intel Alloy (not released), Meta 2 (released as pre-order in March 2016) and Magic Leap (supported by Google) mystery product yet to be released. The acceleration of the consumer centric point of AR will become relevant, experts predict by 2020, but evolution of technology and software, perhaps sooner. Today we see the likes of HP and Acer putting out MR devices for a sixth of the price coming in 2017.

Dirk Gombos and 3DE has advanced into Unity and Microsoft Hololens to start melding facets of 3D, 360, VR, AR,CGI,VFX and make Mixed Realty (MR) product, where you will visit in a foreign world from the comfort of your living room to learning a new trade in your garage!

DIRK GOMBOS
DIRK GOMBOS graduated with a BSc. (Genetics/Cell Biology) from The University of British Columbia (UBC). He started his career at Fluor Corporation, constructing and developing forecasting applications in the scheduling and controls department in the Mining & Metals Sector. Then, Dirk went on to briefly manage investment projects for private clients in the realms of global Direct Response TV marketing/advertising, Distribution of 3D Electronic equipment, Asian based sFDA/kFDA approval of N.A. organic products, land and real estate. Intrigued by information processing led him to create a niche service by acquiring a large client base which sold as a web design/ software programming/branding/client list in the dot.com pre bubble burst (private sale). He then went on to purchase and run a Telecommunications franchise, working with investment project development concepts. Since 2012, Dirk is co-founder and CEO for 3D Evolution (3DE), developing key products, practices and strategies in the 3D, 360, VR, and AR realms of content production of Mixed Reality (MR).
