1. Election and Tech (again): social media played a big role in the election campaign (and also a chatbot war), during the vote (twitter traffic doubled and facebook traffic increased 30%), after the result (silicon valley's reaction to Trump's presidency)
2. IoT: orange pi ($20 quad-core computer), Ruff (winner of TechCrunch 2016 Beijing startup competition), and the challenges in brownfield IoT (vs greenfield)
