Are They Power Query Steps, or Are They Variables? | Gašper Kamenšek
Details
*NOTE: We are starting the event quite a bit later than usual to accommodate the time difference with Slovenia. Things will get underway at 10:00pm Pacific Time.
SESSION TRACK:
Excel & Power BI
SESSION OUTLINE:
Joseph Yeates will start off the evening by showing us some of the latest updates and new features in Power BI.
Next, Gašper Kamenšek will lead us through a different approach to thinking about Power Query steps. M language often has you in the dark, wondering if you should approach it by looking for parallels to other programming languages like C#, VB, C++, etc. Luckily, Power BI and Excel people are well-versed in improvisation. For instance, even though For and While loops are absent in M, there are ways to simulate them.
However, there are far more simple things that need to be defined in programming, and the simplest of them all are variables. In this session, we will look at variables (or a simulation of variables) in Power Query, and it should be a lot of fun!
