Prelude to Dreamforce 2016

Details

Join us for an evening of knowledge and networking on Sep 22nd. We'll be presenting technical sessions that every Salesforce developer would like to learn more about.

Analyzing Salesforce Data with Heroku, Kafka, and Connect

Arthur Louie, Principal Member of Technical Staff, Salesforce

In this session, we'll use the analysis of Chatter data as an example, starting with an overview of options for moving data from Salesforce to Heroku. We'll walk through some Apex code that sends data to Heroku, and some Python code that receives the data and writes it to Heroku's Kafka service. After some data analysis to find interesting Chatter statistics, we'll write the results to Heroku Postgres, which get synced back to Salesforce by Heroku Connect.

Developing Lightning Experience App with Visualforce and SLDS

Linna Tomlinson, Director RD, iPipeline

Justin Yue, Developer, iPipeline

In this session you will learn how to leverage Salesforce Lightning Design System (SLDS) to build custom reusable Visualforce components that look and feel like native Lightning Experience app. We will also show how to automatically change the look and feel of the Visualforce page between Classic and LEX.

Microservice Trigger Architecture – a new way to Build and Manage Apex Triggers

Kofi Johnson, Senior Developer

Want to learn how to use microservice architecture design patterns to design and implement Apex Trigger logic? Join us to learn the difference between monolithic and microservice architecture design patterns, and how we used microservice design patterns to build an Apex Trigger framework. In this session, we will discuss how to build Apex Triggers using a component-based approach, as well as some of benefits that our microservice framework gives to Salesforce Developers and Administrators in controlling their org’s trigger logic.
