If you could learn one thing from this meetup, what would it be?

How people use HTML5 and CSS3 and still deal with browser compatibility issues.

How did you learn about Vancouver Web Performance?

How long have you been a web developer?

I have been developing websites since before I started university in 2005 but my work experience as a web developer only comes down to 3 months.

Should presentations show code?

It depends on the audience. If you are presenting in a room full of web developers, then maybe. But one should keep in mind that not everyone will understand what it means, and not everyone will be able to grasp the logic then and there especially if the slide will only be there for a few minutes. Some would need concentration to be able to read the code and understand it.
