Hi, and welcome to the group! It's great to see you here :)

I'll jump right in...

I set up this meet-up group for two reasons:

1 - So people could have a place to come to feel better about themselves, to share what they're going through and remind ourselves that we're all dealing with stuff in our lives (i.e. we're okay, and we're not alone)

2 - To work through exercises that move us forward in our lives and help us with goals etc

My main aims when running the workshops:

• That everyone has a good time! (very important :) )

• To help you see the good in you

• To set up a non-judgemental, safe space where everyone feels comfortable sharing and supporting each other

• To share tips and tricks for feeling good, achieving goals, and moving forward with your life

• That it is valuable for you 

Please note that the focus of these workshops is on positivity, so we don't spend time in the group moaning or having a rant. It's not about getting tied up in things we can't change, it's more about looking at our lives, discovering our goals and dreams, and having some support to move forward on them. Awesome! :)

The workshops are generally relaxed but with a structure - we have warm-up activities, exercises, some group chat, and a meditation or inspiring quotes.  

What I ask for from you as an attendee:

- That you be respectful in terms of attendance: if you can't make it, just let me know! If you "no show" three times without letting me know, I may ask you to leave the group. This is because I tailor my activities to the numbers I have registered, so if you don't show up, it affects the other attendees.

- That you come willing to share. This is a participatory group, and that's why it works so well. If you share, you give someone else permission to do the same, and then we all learn from each other's experiences. This is an important part of the experience, so come with an open mind, and I'll support and guide you through the rest!  

A final note:

I'm not a counsellor or psychologist and am not trained to deal with any issues of depression or anxiety etc. This is a sharing and encouragement group - I don't offer advice or tell people what to do. If you're looking for help with depression or anxiety, please seek relevant help from professionals who are trained and qualified in that kind of thing. Thank you!
