Join us for a Vegan Night in honor of Earth Day at Bell’s Eccentric Cafe, presented in association with Vegan Kalamazoo. This unique 4 course meal has been thoughtfully created and prepared vegan by Chef Kris and Sous Chef Dan. Instead of a plated meal this dinner will be served family-style. Station 702 is a “hidden gem” of Kalamazoo’s vegan scene. Chef Brad makes terrific vegan dishes that emphasize whole foods and light/no oil. (Note: the potatoes are fried, but you can substitute English muffins.) Served with a side of salsa. $6.25 Tofu Scramble A garden blend of vegetables (tomatoes, green peppers, onions, spinach, mushrooms) and tofu scramble served atop sweet potatoes and baby potatoes. Served with a side of salsa. $6.25 Please note: Our tofu scramble is made from crumbled and seasoned tofu with added ‘bacon’ bits. Scramble contains extra firm tofu, black salt, pepper, turmeric, garlic powder, onion powder, nutritional yeast, (GF). ‘Bacon’ bits contain extra firm tofu, liquid aminos, pure maple syrup, liquid smoke, smoked paprika (GF). Vegan Tacos Two flour taco shells stuffed with mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, and seasoned tofu. One of the U.S.'s oldest and biggest vegfests, Michigan VegFest2019 is a MUST-DO for anyone interested in veganism. It's a blast to be in a giant space, surrounded by thousands of other great vegan and vegan-curious peeps, getting to sample and buy great vegan products, hear top-line vegan speakers on nutrition and other topics, and see top chefs do their thing in demos. Michigan’s largest vegan organization presents VegFest2019 annual vegan tastefest, health, and environmental expo at Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi on April 28. VegFest brings a variety of experts, innovative products, and activities. The event features talks by some of the nation’s foremost experts on plant-based nutrition, cooking demonstrations, children’s activities, and a food court featuring delicious options from local restaurants, bakeries, caterers, and food companies. Also included are national brand samples, eco-friendly products, cruelty-free fashion, literature, cookbooks and more. All vegan, of course! Start the month off right with a friendly vegan meal at a low cost restaurant! Join us the first Thursday of every month from 6 - 8 pm at a local inexpensive restaurant. Sometimes in Kalamazoo, sometimes Portage, sometimes Oshtemo, sometimes ??? We'll eat, chat, and make new friends. Karma points if you wear a vegan shirt so others can see that Yes, There Really is a Vegan Kalamazoo! For May, we'll be visiting CoreLife Eatery! They feature delicious organic bowls, either pre-built (like their Sriracha Ginger Roasted Tofu bowl) or build your own, picking from grains, tofu, veggies, and more.
