Suppers for Expectant Mothers
The Suppers Programs are designed to help people taste, eat, and feel their way to better health. The only requirement for membership is the desire to lead a healthier life using whole food. This meeting will be predominantly plant-based since most people are challenged with adding vegetables into their diet. You'll bond with fellow attendees and work on strategies for achieving your goals. Cooking and food prep starts at 6:30 p.m. Eating and meeting at 7:30. When you RSVP, please let us know your dietary concerns (allergies, preferences, etc.) Cost: Just the shared cost of the meal, about $15 per meeting; the program is otherwise free to users. Please bring small bills in case this particular meeting is more than $15 per person. Sample menu: • Rubbed Kale salad Waldorf Style with Apple Cider Vinaigrette • Quinoa Tabouli • Roasted Veggies with Avocado Sauce • Chocolate Avocado Mousse Please note: two friendly dogs live here. While they will be put away for the meeting, their "presence" lingers. We hope you're not allergic.

What we're about

Each Suppers meeting has its own purpose and personality. There are only three non-negotiable principles common to all meetings:

1. that we all actively practice non-judgment

2. that we all prepare meals from single, whole, fresh foods with very limited processed food

3. that we all avoid commercial messages and the promotion of any particular diet, product or service

Beyond that, facilitators create meetings based on their own particular passions, be it teaching people to prepare raw vegan meals, to managing or reversing diabetes through lifestyle change, to teaching people how to transition the family taste buds from junk to healthy food. We do this by creating safe and friendly settings where people with food-related health challenges can develop and manage their own personal transition to a healthier lifestyle. We focus on preparing healthy mood-stabilizing meals from whole foods, including easy one-pot meals like soups, stews, chili, salads, and slaws. Forge new friendships and get support based on healthy living. The program is free to users except for the shared cost of the meal, about $15/meeting. Please note that active participation in Suppers Meetups is required to be a continuing member. The goals of the program cannot be achieved if you cannot attend in person. Cooking, eating, and meeting together is the underlying foundation of Suppers. So if you are unable to attend 3 meetings in a 12 month period, you will be removed from the Meetup. You are free to rejoin when your schedule permits your presence at meetings.
