Taste and Explore the Benefits of Whole plant-based foods at Vegan Potluck
Rocking it with Plant Dense Foods The key to establish a healthy eating plan is to learn from others and practice in a safe environment until you instinctively prefer healthy foods. The idea of adopting a health-promoting diet and lifestyle can be overwhelming. Selecting nutrient rich foods that taste good can sometimes be challenging. In addition, for most of us, there is an internal conflict—part of us wants to be healthy, but another part seeks pleasure without regard for the consequences. To establish a healthy diet, the key is to learn and practice until you instinctually prefer healthy foods. The social time will start at 2:30 pm and we will begin the potluck at 3:00 pm. The featured speaker will begin the discussion around 3:30. You have the option to attend both the potluck and discussion or select one or the other. Please bring your smile, a hungry appetite, and a vegan (organic if possible) dish. And if raw, has not been heated over about 110 degrees to share with 6-8 people. If you are a creative type then by all means invent something really unique. If you are a newbie or a more simple foods oriented individual then just stop at the market and pick up something fresh that you think will suit. If you are coming as a couple, please bring an extra-large, double, or a second entree. If you are coming directly from work and can't bring anything, please still come, as your friendship is of most importance and we usually have plenty of food for everyone. It is appreciated that you bring your own setting if possible along with a serving utensil to serve with your entree. If you forget or don't have everything, there will be extra settings and utensils. The Office Atrium is conveniently located on Route 82 near I-77 between Broadview and Brecksville Roads. We are meeting in the 1st floor lobby. There is plenty of free parking around the building with handicap parking close to the entrance doors. The western side of the building has the closest entrance to the lobby. This Whole Food Plant-based Vegan Potluck Is Posted On All of these Websites: The Vegan Meetup Group Website (http://www.meetup.com/vegetarian-367/) Vegan Baking and Cooking Meetup Group Website (http://www.meetup.com/VeganBakingandCooking/) Because this is an all vegan plant-based (mostly organic) gathering I would ask everyone to respect the request to keep the potluck just that. No animal flesh or animal by-products, please. And no processed vegan food, please. We are all about being vegan and natural. Fresh, ripe, vegan, organic (and raw if possible). Also, please refrain from using colognes and perfumes being considerate of those with sensitivities and allergies. Thank you for understanding.

What we're about

This group is for people who want to learn more about cooking and baking with vegan ingredients. This is not really intended for professional chefs (but please feel free to join if you'd like and teach the rest of us!), just ordinary people who love to cook and bake and would like to help the environment at the same time! We will travel around the various farmers markets (in the Summer months), and get a feel for the locally grown ingredients available around us. We will also try to find places where we can bake and/or cook as a community, but this may prove difficult. We'll have to keep a watchful eye, and ask around to find a place to help us out - a community kitchen would be perfect, if you know of one!

We'll attend cooking classes, learn about Vegan events in the area, go to movies, and eat out at Vegan restaurants. We can also eat at non-vegan restaurants that offer Vegan options, and by spending our money on the vegan menu, we're doing something to promote more awareness. We can also feature restaurants that have vegan entrees.

If you have an idea for a meetup, please post it to the IDEAS page of this site, or you can email me directly!
