OVERVIEW:
CAR CAMPING TRIP
HIKE 1 mile from the trailhead
WORK on the Terrace Creek Trail from the North Coast Ridge Road.
EASY HIKE TO THE WORK!
We have received permission to work on this closed trail. However, all participants must be approved in advance.
HIKE 1 mile from the trailhead
WORK on clearing brush from the Terrace Creek Trail starting from the trailhead on the North Coast Ridge Road. This Trail is closed to the public. Our work will be the first step to reopening both the Terrace Creek Trail and eventually the Pine Ridge Trail. We need your help!
However, this trip is limited to participants who have been on trips before. The leader MUST be able to vouch for you before you can participate. That being said, we need all the help we can get to clear this trail. This will be a good introduction to backpacking and trailwork. Plus a chance to learn how to use a crosscut saw. Work on the Terrace Creek Trail. There is water along the trail and at our camp location.
MEET: Big Sur Multi Agency Facility 8 A.M. DON'T BE LATE!
IMPORTANT: Meetup directions may not be the best. In you mapping program, search for:
Big Sur Station, 47555 CA-1, Big Sur, CA 93920
The Big Sur Multi Agency Facility is at Big Sur Station. It is on the east (inland) side of Highway One, about a half mile south of Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park. For those coming from the north, after you pass Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, you cross the Big Sur River on an inconspicuous bridge. Then as you start the uphill, there is a left turn lane; use this left turn lane to turn in to the Multi Agency Facility at Big Sur Station. If you go over a larger bridge, and get to the Big Sur Bakery, you have gone too far.
LEADER APPROVAL REQUIRED due to the access issues; contact leader for acceptance on this trip and meeting details.
