What we're about

Because of the current "purple" tier designation for Ventura County. Effective immediately RSVP's will be limited to 4 + the organizer. If you have already signed up for a hike and you are not one of the first 4 you will be wait listed.

BUT, this is still a free country and if you want to HYOH, so be it.
Welcome to Ventura County Day Hikes. I host a wide variety of hikes during the week, over the whole of Ventura County. Feel free to join. I have just a couple of simple guidelines that we follow on our hikes. 1. Hike Your Own Hike. I don't expect you to be either as fast or as slow as I am. At trail/Road junctions we wait for the last person to catch up- then leave. We do not take a lot of breaks, and when we do it is not for long periods unless it is an extended hike of 10+ miles. We leave on time, unless everyone that has signed up is present when I get there, then we leave. I have been asked by some members why I only post hikes during the weekday. Simple- when I started this group there were not a lot of hiking groups during the week, but plenty on the weekend. COVID may have changed other group postings, but not mine. Always try to follow social distance guidelines and wear a mask when you feel like it, or pass other hikers.
If you are interested in a particular hike on the weekend- let me know and I can facilitate the posting of the hike and find a suitable leader for it.

Always remember you are responsible for you, hike prepared, make sure that you are well enough to hike for sustained periods of time over various terrain, in changing weather conditions.
