Staying A Leader Outside The Military

Our guest speaker for our upcoming Veteran Business Referral Network (VBRN) is Captain (USN Retired) John Titus of Comcast (Executive Director Strategic Supply Chain Partnerships Integrated Supply Chain Operations Team)

John will speak about "Staying a Leader Outside The Military".

During his 20+ year Navy career, John served in a variety of key leadership positions afloat and ashore, which provided him with a diverse background and valuable skills that have been crucial in his roles at Comcast. He served on 4 ships, served in combat 3 times for Desert Storm, Kosovo Operation and Operation Iraqi Freedom and served in numerous Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief operations with his last deployment as the head of logistics for the Pakistan Earthquake Relief Operation.

He has applied the experience and skills learned in the military to all his activities at Comcast from applying his Contingency Operation experience with the Super Storm Sandy hurricane recovery operation (which occurred 3 weeks after he joined the company) to applying his Supply Corps Officer training with transforming the Supply Chain for the Company to applying the “taking care of your troops” leadership lessons learned with his team’s improved performance and professional development.

John Titus is a graduate of the U.S Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in Math. He earned a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College and a Master of Business Administration in e-Business from the University of Phoenix. He is a graduate of the Joint Forces Staff College and completed the Executive Development Programs from University of Pennsylvania -Wharton Business School, University of North Carolina - Kenan-Flager Business School, Penn State - Smeal Business School and San Diego State University.

He is married and has two sons.
