Kickoff with Korea: Min Jin Lee's Pachinko

Details
It's happening! Our first Vicarious Reading Meetup is on, and we'll be "traveling" to Korea and Japan with Min Jin Lee's Pachinko, which was the resounding winner with 75% of the vote!
For our first Meetup, I booked us some space in Midtown, which is hopefully fairly convenient for most people. Details are here: https://brt.hr/r/LIBx0n-yIJQ
Location rental's on me this time, though I'd love to brainstorm another solution for future meetings. Sadly, the space has a capacity limit, so I've limited the number of attendees accordingly. Please only accept if you are sure you'll be able to read the book and attend!
When we meet, please bring your copy of the book plus wine or snacks if the mood strikes! In addition to discussing the book, I'd also love to chat about any preferences you have in terms of logistics of this Meetup - how we choose the books, how we moderate the conversation (or don't), where and when we meet, format of the meeting, etc. I have some thoughts but of course it's a book club, not a dictatorship :)
Looking forward to seeing you in a few weeks, and in the meantime please do reach out with any questions.
