VIEDEVOPSSEC_78B - VM to Serverless, Layover Kubernetes

Details
[GERMAN DESCRIPTION]
Moving a Node.js application from virtual machines to containers and then to serverless
Automated DNS Management Pipelines with Terraform, Jenkins, Jira and Bitbucket
[ENGLISH DESCRIPTION]
Moving a Node.js application from virtual machines to containers and then to serverless
Based on a demonstrative Node.js app, Pál will show us a way how to migrate it from a VM based environement to a serverless one. Along the way we he will also stop-by at Kubernetes and explain the advantages of both deployment options, and what to choose in different situations. All material will be shared after this meetup for you to try it out yourself, including the slides, the codebase from the Node.js app and the configurations.
Automated DNS Management Pipelines with Terraform, Jenkins, Jira and Bitbucket
Christoph shows how ByteSource implemented a CI / CD Pipeline for DNS Management in their own infrastructure using tools like Terraform, Jenkins, Jira and BitBucket. The talk will cover:
- Background about the design and implementation choices. (edited)
- A live demonstration of the complete process from different perspectives (customer, dev, manager).
