Big Data Vilnius meetup #12

Last meetup before the summer break. This time Vinted will kindly provide us with a place. As usual we will have two presentations.

Gediminas Guoba from Trustpilot - "Building datalake on public Cloud"

This talk is about how we started building datalake on Amazon AWS and ended up with hybrid cloud solution. We will share our interpretation on what datalake is in Trustpilot context and what problems we aim to solve. During this journey we had a chance to test and compare various cloud-native solutions and OSS technologies. In the end of the day we will share our tech stack that powers our self-service ETL platform and scalable data analytics engine. During the talk we will be using buzzwords like - Presto, Spark, Redshift, Amazon Athena, Serverless functions, BigQuery, Dataflow, Airflow, Kafka, and few others.

Julius Vitkauskas from Adform - "Adform's journey providing external facing analytics"
This talk is about how we built flexible reporting system with HP Vertica. We will share our struggles coping with crazy dynamic query generation for providing a rich and smooth user experience on top of existing data model. This talk will include graph theory, NP complex problems, and other good stuff.
