Abstract

With a brief history flashback we'll talk about hybrid apps development
with JavaScript using Apache Cordova and frameworks such as Ionic. We'll
analyze their strengths and weaknesses. Then we'll talk about NativeScript,
a platform, which allows to build truly native apps, based on V8 (Android)
and JavaScriptCore (iOS) engines, with the use of XML markup and subset of
CSS. It allows to eliminate WebView and DOM and overcome its pitfalls. We
will also discuss on what benefits NativeScript brings over the hybrid apps
and what we can reach with this technology. We'll also dig into the code a
bit to cover the basics of the both technologies usage.
