Yesteday was the final day of the world's first Hololens Hackathon. Microsoft was very supportive and organized a great hackathon for 100 hackers (and about 40 Hololens units) with generous support and assistance from Microsoft Engineers. There were about 10 hackers from the building and real estate industries at the event and Microsoft is very interested in collaborating and supporting innovation in AEC to make Seattle even more of a global leader in AR for Enterprise including AEC and Real Estate. I plan on organizing a presentation and demo event for Hololens in late June. Depending on interest and sign ups, we will locate the event at a venue with enough space to accomodate participants and for demos. I hope to have presenters from the Hololens team and Unity since development for Hololens is currently best supported using Visual Studio and Unity. Please sign up asap so we can generate more interest and support. The event will take place on either a weekday evening or on a Saturday afternoon if enough momentum is built prior to the event.

Here is a video showing a Holographic House I created using fabrication-level data from a wood building we fabricated and then assembled in Lake Tahoe https://youtu.be/bOEWvM1mKNM

At the Hackathon our team created a interactive, holographic configuration software which we plan on releasing on the Hololens store and making open source. This should happen later this week. Please contact me if you can help organize and participate in our next meetup to help make Seattle the world leader in AR for AEC and real estate. We expect to be able to show many holographic models of real buildings.
