Learning to Perform a Song/Aria Workshops Series - 3 of 4 (come to one or both)

Details

Letting your instrument be free and express without restriction can be magical. We will also be looking at some of the spiritual and energetic knowledge behind the making of vocal sound. It can even be a powerful personally transforming experience when learned through these 'BreathingRx For Singers' techniques.

In this 3rd workshop we will review and refine body release, diaphragm training and individual balance and movement for ideal singing support. We will also focus more on performing your song including how to interpret music with voice and body movement as well as other many small things you can do to make a performance wonderful. We will cover performance preparation, nerves and working with an audience in all types of situations. You will learn how to rehearse and work with an accompanist. There will be a lot of individual integration of techniques and discovery of your personal style. In this workshop there will be a lot of coaching on your level of BreathingRx, performance techniques and song interpretation.

The Dates Are:
Saturday November 30th, 1:00 to 4:00
Saturday December 14th, 1:00 to 4:00

Register for each workshop individually and tuition will be $35. Without pre-registration tuition is $40. at the door. It will be worthwhile marking your calendar now and reserving your participation to receive maximum benefit by participating in the remaining 2 workshops. I will provide a safe, comfortable environment for you to explore the vulnerability of learning and performing. Performing can be a wonderfully freeing experience. Let's experience it together!

Class 4: In this workshop we will prepare for performance and perform! There will be an accompanist and you will bring your music or chord chart. First we will warm up with the release and diaphragm training techniques and I will teach the group a very special vocal warm up exercises designed to make your voice work the best it can given your current vocal ability and knowledge. I will also talk about how to manage yourself to prepare your mind and body for performance. You will each perform and I will give a performance critique and future potential areas to improve, (only if you want it). Performing can be a wonderfully freeing experience. Let's experience it together!
