INTERESTED IN LEARNING MORE ABOUT US? The first step is to attend a meet and greet session. Next open house will be scheduled once we are able to meet again. (These are usually scheduled for January, April, July and October, and take place in our rehearsal space from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm) This will give you a chance to see a demonstration with one of our trios, learn more about our process and ask questions.
We rehearse the first and third Thursdays of the month from 7:00-8:30 pm at Brighton Gardens Sunrise living in Dunwoody.
Threshold Choirs honor the ancient tradition of singing at the bedsides of people who are struggling. Our goal is to bring ease and comfort to those at the thresholds of living and dying. Serving those at the thresholds of life requires not only musical readiness, but also a connection with your fellow singers and a calm, grounded presence. We are not a performing or social group. We are hospice singers. This group is open to women only.
We sing at bedsides, in private residences and hospices, and in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. We sing as an a cappella choral group, in pairs, or in small groups by request all over Atlanta and it's outlying suburbs.
Those who have the ability to match pitch, sing quietly without vibrato, blend your voice, and feel called to do this work should consider this group. We do require that the music be memorized and that you attend a minimum of twelve rehearsals before requesting the opportunity to sing at bedside. Please check out http://www.thresholdchoir.org to see videos of a bedside sing and get a better sense of what we do, before asking to join.
