Amber B Skylar, Author of "Colors of Amber, A Memoir," will host the reading and discussion group on this book. This is a gender issues book and a place where committed women can gather for growth, connection, support and inspiration. The group will gather Friday evenings, 730 - 10 pm.

5 - Meet ups for the first book.  One Friday per month/per group.

Each session will start with some gentle yoga, meditation, grounding, centering.  Amber B Skylar is a professional yoga teacher with 15+ years experience in the health and wellness industry.

There are four stages in group development. Amber has experience in leading and managing group dynamics creating a safe place where women can speak their truth and learn how to do so - effectively without telling others what they "need to" or "should do". Group will be moderated. (Ex. no "cross talk", effective communications skills will be taught and utilized.)

This is a support and empowerment/enrichment group. Mothers and daughters are invited to participate. Caution about the book - age appropriate for young women aged 17+. This is an eye-opening, emotional, poetic and inspirational memoir.

The maximum group size will be 12, with a waiting list of 3.  The group will be structured for optimal sharing, safety, privacy, and effective communication and dialogue.  If you seek a group like this, we seek those that are committed to the connection and the development and safety of the group.  Missing one Friday, out of 5 will be acceptable.

Concurrent groups will be created when the first group is full.

*This is not a social group, for shopping, wine excursions, etc.  We will not be making crafts etc.  We seek powerful women who are yearning for connection and spiritual (physical, emotional, and intellectual) growth.

These groups will be led and facilitated by Ms. Skylar.   Ms. Skylar held a leadership role as President of Woman With Eastern USA (formerly known as East Coast Sage Circle) a branch of Woman Within International since 1998.   Ms. Skylar has also presented for Women's Center (Vienna Virginia).  In 2001, she traveled to Korea for a World Peace Conference dedicated to women and challenged the 90% male panel speaking on women rights/issues.
