PEACEFUL & SAFE protest begins 1pm Saturday at the Capitol in Austin.

DOs
DO Practice all reasonable precautions related to safety from the virus.
DO Wear a surgical mask, N95 mask, or cloth face covering.
DO Practice social distancing.
DO Bring signs and placards.
DO make your sign out of light wood, PVC pipe, cardboard, foam board, or poster board.
DO Bring bust cards (small cards that remind you of your rights and what to say to the police).
DO Bring voice amplification, bullhorn, PA.
DO Bring water, food and snacks.
DO Bring rain and/or sun protection.
DO Bring cameras, phones, and recording devices.
DO Record everything.
DO Notify the press and everyone you know about the rally, and ask them to be there.
DO Wear comfortable shoes and clothing.
DO Wear weather appropriate clothing (warm / cold weather).
DO Consider bringing protective gear, if able (goggles, face shields, knee/elbow pads).
DO Consider bringing head protection, such as a bicycle helmet or hard hat.
DO Prepare a SHORT statement for the press, in case you get interviewed.
DO Prepare to be arrested. I’m not saying you WILL be arrested, but it’s a possibility. You might spend the night in jail.

DON’Ts
DON’T Bring any weapons of any kind.
DON’T Bring anything that can even be construed as a weapon.
DON’T Bring anything with a point, sharp edge, or that could be used as a club.
DON’T Bring anything that can launch or fire a projectile of any kind.
DON’T make your sign out of anything that could hurt anyone. DON’T use a sharp stick or metal pipe for example.
DON’T make a huge heavy sign that you will have to carry around all day
DON’T act aggressive, threaten, or verbally abuse ANYONE.
DON’T get in a fight with ANYONE.
DON’T use foul or abusive language on your sign.
DON’T yell foul or abusive language or use that kind of language with the press or the police.
DON’T get too close to people you don’t know and that aren’t in your personal group.
DON’T resist arrest. If you are getting arrested, peacefully comply and cooperate.
DON’T damage or deface any property.
DON’T litter.
