This group is for anyone that wants to just get involved and meet up with like minded people. To be part of a group that wants to do something positive and helpful for our community. Volunteering with others that just want to be involved in happy surroundings. Everyone is welcome! I started this group to meet other people that want to partake in volunteering or just being involved in what is out there. No matter where, no matter who, no matter for what cause, I just want to do more than I do now, and having others by my side would just make it that much more enjoyable.
Desert Challenge Games hosted by Arizona Disabled Sports is 1 of 8 World Para Track and Field Events in the World. The event is held every year in the Tempe, Mesa, Phoenix area and is host to over 400 athletes from about 16 Countries. The games this year are from May 22nd-May 26th with athletes competing in any of 5 different sports. The track and field event (where many current, former, and future Paralympians will be competing) is where we will most need volunteers to help with measuring at field events, escorting athletes from call tents to events, merchandise stand, and translators. There are plenty of different shifts throughout the week, any help we can get is greatly appreciated. We only ask that we have individuals complete our sign-up so that we know what to expect each day of the event.
