What we're about

Hello Los Angeles Vue.js enthusiasts!

Come join the Vue.js LA **Monthly Meetup!** where you can learn and improve your skills as frontend developers, using this elegant framework, Vue.js.

Vue.js is an amazing frontend framework with a extensive and growing community. It is fast, friendly, and intuitive to use. It takes the best from React and Angular, with a focus on ease of use and especially useful for designers.

We meet monthly and are a group of web developers enthusiastic about building a Vue community right here in Los Angeles. We have speakers on various topics related to Vue, including beginner-friendly talks for those interested in learning the frontend, to advanced talks where developers can dig in deep about Vue's internals and discuss best practices.

Developers of all levels of experience are welcome! This is an inclusive environment that welcomes everybody. Beginners through professionals are welcome, and we love participation.

Vue.js LA **Monthly Meetup!** Every 2nd Tuesday of the Month

https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84712582829 Meeting ID:[masked] · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · Hey Vue.js LA! We're on for our July Meetup, Tuesday the 14th -- 6pm-8pm! Zoom Meeting: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84712582829 Meeting ID:[masked] Please RSVP here: https://www.meetup.com/VuejsLA/events/271789193/ We've got a couple cool talks for you, where you'll see a couple great new apps, and how quickly they are going from prototype to production... [I.] First, Eli Silverman has built a really cool new app, Minimart, which he'll be showing us. As many of you may know, Eli is a domain expert in the restaurant space. As part of a Covid relief effort, he started off by quickly prototyping a restaurant delivery app for a friend. It was so useful and successful that in only a few months he now has 19 restaurants using it. I've seen it and it's very elegant and easy to use. Come check out his Minimart app, and see how he was able to quickly build this app, as he explains how he built this really nice tool to help out restaurants in need to deliver food to their customers, in a very restaurant-friendly way. Eli Silverman Presentation: COVID Relief: Building a free food ordering app called Minimart using Vue.js, Vuetify, Airtable and Netlify On Eli: Eli has been providing full stack software solutions and brand design work to the restaurant industry for 12 years. In addition to creating Minimart, he is the founder of Resto, a restaurant website SaaS dedicated to making site and menu updates quick, easy, and elegant. *** [II.] For our 2nd talk, James will be showing off a proof of concept: a component marketplace app called Factory. Together with Drew Baker of Funkhaus, they are thinking through a way to create a "component marketplace," where any developer can get paid to build individual components (Vue.js components). James Lee Presentation: A Demo of the Factory Component Marketplace On James: James Lee is the VP of Engineering at Bambee. As you all know, James is one of our core organizers, and awesome developer, and an all around great guy. He always gives interesting talks, so together with Drew and Funkhaus, it will be really interesting to see how they've though through the workflow of a component marketplace. Should be a couple interesting talks. See you all on Tuesday July 14th, from 6-8pm on Zoom. Looking forward to seeing all of you **on Zoom** on Tuesday!
