Most Saturday walks are planned with public transport in mind.

Here are just some of the many activities we have planned...
* Walks
* Theme parks
* Escape rooms
* Murder mysteries
* Treasure hunts
* Canoe trips
* Go Ape
* Games and quizzes
* Camping
* Aqua parks

WAMM is free to join and to attend many of our activities. Where there is a cost involved, this is clearly stated in the event listing and payment is required upfront when booking your place.

When planning on attending one of our events, please ensure you read the description fully, including any related policies. By attending any WAMM event you are agreeing to our terms and conditions. All WAMM activities are strictly 18+ only. If you have any questions, you can contact us through Meetup, Facebook or email.

Fantastic Forest of Bowland AONB - Easter weekend away

Travelodge Lancaster

***There's space left for either: 2 males Or 1 male and one female Or 2 females (if one of those doesn't mind sharing in a mixed sex room)*** Please note: If 6 or more people sign-up, we will start refunding some of the cost of the weekend. See below for further details. The Forest of Bowland AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) offers some of the most beautiful and remote walking in the country, from the grandeur and isolation of the moorland hills to the undulating lowlands with their distinctive pattern of settlements, woodland cloughs and river valleys. These landscape contrasts, along with the serenity and tranquility of the area make this a walker’s paradise. Join WAMM on a fantastic four day Easter weekend away to explore this brilliant area of the North East. Walks around the Forest of Bowland and the local area will be planned for all four days. If you don't want fancy a walk one day, you are only a short drive from the towns of Lancaster and Morecambe and the sea. You can walk into the Forest of Bowland from the hotel. We may drive a short distance for some of the WAMMbles to allow us to explore more of the area. We have booked three triple rooms at a Travelodge near Lancaster, with very good TripAdvisor reviews. Each room has 3 separate adult sized beds and an en suite bathroom. "So convenient. Situated at the rear of the motorway services you might think it would be dirty and noisy. The opposite in fact. Once in your room you could be in the middle of the country overlooking fields and rural countryside." - happy TripAdvisor reviewer. There are M&S Simply Food and WHSmith (for packed lunches) and several fast-food chains (for breakfasts) within easy walking distance (some with 20% discounts apparently for hotel guests). There are a few pubs in nearby villages, or Lancaster, that we will book into for group meals in the evening. WAMM are generally good at carpooling. If you are planning on driving, there would probably be another WAMMbler who would appreciate a lift in exchange for a donation towards your petrol costs. (Unfortunately your host forgot she had a prior commitment in Skegness on the Friday morning and has a ridiculous drive to the weekend, so won't be carpooling herself as planned!). Due to the location of the Travelodge and the Easter weekend, public transport would be difficult and would probably involve taxis at some point. Approximate weekend timetable: Good Friday - 12.00pm - Leave car share locations/collect passengers. Stop for packed lunch on way up. 3.30pm - Check into hotel 4pm - Afternoon WAMMble from hotel 7pm - Shower, change and relax 8pm - Group pub meal Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday - 9am - parkrun (Saturday only) - optional 10.30 - WAMMble 5pm - Shower, change and relax 7pm - Group pub meal Easter Monday 10am - Check out for WAMMble 4pm - Set off home Suggested kit list: Rucksack for walks Water bottle Walking clothes Walking boots Waterproofs (just in case) Pyjamas Clothes and shoes for group meals out Cash for group meals out Cash for petrol contribution to car pool driver Battery pack (optional for charging mobile phone) Payment is required when signing up for this event. If you are trying to sign up via the Meetup app it may not work, if so use the Meetup website to sign up (payments don't always work on the Android app). Payment includes three nights accomodation in the hotel. The £60 price for the weekend is based on 5 or less of us staying in the hotel. If 6 or 7 people attend then there will be a £5 refund (paid to you on the weekend). If 8 or 9 people attend then there will be a £10 refund (paid to you on the weekend). Bingo! 😃 BUZZ Bingo! 🎉 Where old is new!

Tesco Beaumont Leys Community Space Centre Beaumont Leys Leicester

Let’s meet-up and play a game or two of the time tested Bingo entertainment! The new Buzz Bingo has replaced the old Gala Bingo in Beaumont Leys, Leicester. Neither Buzz nor Gala are on the maps, hence the drop pin is in the nearby Tesco Extra 😆 Totally suitable for beginners and I’m one of those sheltered individuals 😆 I’m going to find out all about it and add more information in here for everyone to see 😀 I believe the price is around £10 and includes lots and lots of games! 😃 It would be good to establish the level of interest at this stage. So guys, RSVP away! And watch this space! 😀

The first half of this walk is steep and hilly, the second half will be flat. Sunset will occur fairly early on in the walk. Please bring a headtorch with you. Toilets are available in the pub at the start. After the walk will be socialising in the pub over a drink, please join us. Free parking is available on nearby streets, please do not use the pub car park. We will start walking promptly at 7pm. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early to find us in front of the pub. Make sure you are dressed appropriately for the weather conditions on the day. Please see http://www.meetup.com/WAMMidlands/pages/24770161/Walks'_suggested_clothing_and_kit_list for details of a suggested clothing and kit list. Disclaimer - All WAMM events are 18+. You are responsible for ensuring you are correctly dressed for walking, that you are bringing any water and refreshments you require and that you feel fit and healthy enough to take part. Our walks are led by experienced walkers, but we cannot foresee and prevent all hazards. Routes are planned by experienced volunteers and many are prewalked in advance, but poor weather and path conditions, livestock movements and path diversions may ocur without warning.
