About WEBO

WEBO is the home for passionate, motivated women entrepreneurs and business owners who are looking for a different kind of networking organization. At WEBO, we’re creating a conversation and a community, expanding our professional networks and growing our businesses while supporting, encouraging and learning from each other.

There’s no membership fee at WEBO, we invite all women entrepreneurs and business owners in the Broomfield-Boulder-Northwest Denver to join the discussion on Facebook, and attend our monthly WEBOs Lunch events and our amazing educational and professional development WEBOs Learn sessions at no charge*. If you’re looking for something to help you drive your business and personal growth, we also offer Power Circles – small groups that meet monthly and combine professional group coaching with peer advisory who come together to help each other navigate the challenges and celebrate the successes of being an independent women business owner.

Effective Leadership is an Emotional Experience. In this presentation, you'll learn:

2. The importance of moving from away from Golden Rule and towards a more empathetic rule.
3. Why actively listening is critical to your business success.

Dr. Ali will discuss the human skills leaders need to succeed as they start and grow their own ventures. Opening with how to operationalize authenticity, moving into empathy and how it is our real-life version of a human super-power, following with active listening technique, and wrapping up with strategies for meaningful self-reflection, Dr. Ali offers participants an interactive talk that gets to the foundation of our biggest assets in business - our relationships with ourselves and others.

Dr. Ali Hill is a business leader, Sociologist, emotional intelligence evangelist, and mom. Over the past two decades, she has run nonprofit organizations and private businesses, as well as designed, written, and delivered curricula, workshops, and trainings in the private and public sectors. She is the Managing Partner of Sound Advice Consulting Services, a consultancy she and her husband founded over a decade ago. Within Sound Advice, Dr. Hill created Sound Advice Women for entrepreneurs and founders. Through this line of business, Dr. Hill helps her clients build and grow business infrastructure, design effective processes, understand and use data to meet business outcomes, raise money, and increase emotional intelligence, with an emphasis on leadership and management training. Dr. Hill graduated from Tufts University with a BA (magna cum laude) in Spanish and Women’s Studies. She holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, with a concentration in Non-Profit Business Management. She earned a PhD in Sociology from The Graduate Center, City University of New York (CUNY). She lives in Denver with her husband, two kids, dog, and turtle.

Maya Angelou said “When we know better, we do better.” That’s the idea behind WEBOs Learn, our monthly educational and growth program. WEBOs Learn brings life and business experts to the WEBO community to share strategies, lessons, and takeaways you can take back to your business to help you achieve your success. These presentations and discussions are motivating, inspiring, and educational.

WEBOs Learn is held on the first, third, and fourth Thursday of each month.

What can you expect at WEBOs Learn?
• Expertise – our presenters are life and business experts who will share their information and skills to help you grow your personal and professional knowledge.
• Real life takeaways – from stress relief strategies to social media plans, you will come away from every WEBOs Learn session with real takeaways you can use.
