ScriptDC Filmmakers Weekend
ScriptDC is the premier conference for Mid-Atlantic filmmakers including writers, directors, producers and talent to connect with accomplished teachers, consultants and industry professionals. The 2018 conference will be October 26-28, 2018 at American University. ScriptDC supports the work of directors, producers, actors, and writers via seminars that provide access to talented media professionals willing to share their expertise. This year's speakers will give you insights into how a script moves through production to distribution, what it's like to be in the writer's room for a one-hour drama or a half-hour comedy, the feminine heroic journey, creating virtual reality media, and the business of documentary (and more)! We are delighted to be working with Roadmap Writers to give 32 attendees the opportunity to pitch their projects via Skype to LA-based development executives. Only thing missing this weekend is the cost of a plane ticket! Sessions and Speakers include: Saturday, October 27 > Inside Stories (am)/Engaging the Female Heroic (pm) workshops with Dara Marks; > Writing for TV: Inside the Writer's Room (one-hour drama) (am) with Ligiah Villalobos; > Directing: Soup to Nuts (am) with Joan Darling > Script to Screen: Development and Financing (am) with panelists including Marilyn Atlas, Helen Krieger, Michelle Mower, Laurie Scheer and others; > Storytelling for Virtual Reality (am); > The Business of Documentary Filmmaking - full-day offering; > Writing for TV: Inside the Writer's Room (half-hour comedy) (pm) with Helen Krieger and Daphne Pollon; > Character Development (pm) with Marilyn Atlas; > Script to Screen: Production to Distribution (pm) with multiple panelists; > Production for Virtual/Augmented Reality (pm); Sunday, October 28 > Script Critiques (Sunday am) – send us your first five pages by Oct 5; > Pitches (Sunday pm)– 32 Skype slots available with LA-based development executives; > Final Draft Formatting and Version 11 Demo (Sunday pm) with Shelly Mellott; Registration REQUIRED Speaker bios, workshop descriptions, and more info here Refund Policy: Refunds are available up to 72 hours in advance of the program.
