"Being Boss": A Mini Course Join us for this 5-week mini course, based on the book, BEING BOSS, by Kathleen Shannon and Emily Thompson, hosts of the top-ranked podcast Being Boss! Kathleen and Emily will be the keynote speakers at the WISE Symposium this year, so be sure to get your book signed on April 25th and then join us for an in-depth exploration of their inspiring tips and tricks in BEING BOSS; a must read for women business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs! The "Being Boss" mini course will take place every Tuesday for five (5) consecutive weeks from 12:00pm-1:30pm, starting on Tuesday, May 7th and ending on Tuesday, June 4th. Attendance at ALL sessions is strongly encouraged! "Take control of your work and live life on your own terms!" The purpose of the book club mini course is to provide structure for a gathering of women entrepreneurs (and those thinking about starting a new business), who desire to read and discuss the concepts put forth in the book, "Being Boss". This will serve as a platform for discussion to help you "be boss" not only at growing your business, but at creating a life you love. We'll be reading and discussing the book but, it will be much more than that. There will be take-home exercises, group coaching opportunities and it is a time for learning and sharing. It will be important that we get to know each other and create a safe space. Think of it as a class/workshop in a book club format! If you have a scheduling conflict, before or after the book club begins, please let me know by email so that we can determine what will work best for you and the group. Pricing: The price for the "Being Boss" mini course is $75. For our first meeting, we will review our housekeeping items and follow an agenda that includes a discussion of the introduction and first chapter of "Being Boss" (you do not have to read the whole book by our first meeting on May 7th). About the book and authors Being Boss: Take Control of Your Work and Live Life on Your Own Terms is a rare book that recognizes that running a business is more than a way of working, it's a way of life. Anyone who has chosen to become an entrepreneur knows that every choice you make can either bring you closer to the life you want -- whether you're looking for more freedom to travel, be with family, or choose your own clients -- or farther away from it. Emily Thompson founded Indie Shopography, a design and strategy studio for online entrepreneurs, in 2009. Emily has worked to help makers, coaches, and designers develop an online business model, strategize and launch websites, and grow their online business. She lives in Chattanooga, Tennessee with her life and business partner, David, and their daughter. Kathleen Shannon is the founder of Braid Creative and Consulting, a boutique branding agency and consultancy she co-owns with her sister. Together they have helped thousands of creative entrepreneurs authentically brand and position themselves as creative experts. Kathleen also does creative coaching and is regularly invited to speak on personal branding at design conferences and retreats. She lives in Oklahoma City with her husband and son.
