The WordPress Helsinki meetup group aims to bring people of all skill levels together, from beginners to WordPress professionals.

This month we will discuss the upcoming editor for WordPress called Gutenberg. It's going to change how users write the content and how developers interact with it.

"The editor will endeavour to create a new page and post building experience that makes writing rich posts effortless, and has “blocks” to make it easy what today might take shortcodes, custom HTML, or “mystery meat” embed discovery. — Matt Mullenweg"

We are hoping that everyone will bring their own laptops so we can test Gutenberg and give feedback. Don't worry if you can't bring your laptop, join us anyway and perhaps you can do the testing together with someone else.

17:15 – Doors open

17:30 – Opening words

17:40 – Short introduction about Gutenberg by Sami Keijonen.

18:00 – Testing Gutenberg on your own laptop and giving feedback. Conversation and summary about Gutenberg.

19:00 – Drinks and networking

Drinks and snacks will be provided by WP-palvelu (https://wp-palvelu.fi).

The meetup will take place at SC5’s auditorium located on the 6th floor in Kamppi at Urho Kekkosen Katu 7B, 00100 Helsinki.

As always, we’ll continue on to a bar nearby after the official program is over, so you can join us later even if you miss the talk. Follow the comments in the meetup event or our Slack (http://www.meetup.com/WPHelsinki/pages/Slack/) channel for updates!

If you have any questions, leave a comment or contact us directly through the contact form on Meetup.com.
