Wake Up is an active global community of young mindfulness practitioners, aged 18-35+, inspired by the teachings of Zen Master and peace activist Thich Nhat Hanh.

We host a weekly peer-facilitated meeting for young adults in their 20s and 30s looking into mindfulness.

We come together to practice mindfulness in order to take care of ourselves, nourish happiness and contribute to building a healthier and a more compassionate society.

We aim to experience joy and ease in our pursuits, keeping it real with the laughter, sanity, and friendship that bloom from practicing mindfulness together.

Dear friend, Please join us for our weekly gathering! We are a group of young adults (35 and under) practicing mindfulness in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh, called Wake Up SF. We start sitting meditation promptly at 3:15 p.m., so we kindly ask you to arrive beforehand to settle in. The official part of the event ends at 5:30 p.m. Typical schedule: 3:15 p.m.: Beginning - 20 minutes sitting meditation - 10 min walking meditation or deep relaxation - 30 min discussion - 30 min sharing circle 5:30 p.m.: End 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.: Open socialization or group dinner This is a free, donation-based event. No one is turned away for lack of funds. We provide cushions, so you don't need to bring anything with you. We are looking forward to practicing with you!
