Wake Up Tampa Bay is a mindfulness and meditation group for people in their 20s and 30s. We are a group of peers who support each other in our practices of mindfulness and meditation and in leading wholesome, healthy, happy lives.
We take inspiration and guidance from Buddhist teachings and help each other see how we can apply them to our lives. However, this group is open for everyone in our age group, Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike.
In addition to having regular meditations and Dharma discussions, we also enjoy spending time together and touching the nourishing elements that are in us and around us in our Tampa Bay community. Together we learn how to engage with life mindfully and joyfully. We like to have vegan potlucks, watch documentaries, play volleyball, attend museum exhibits, take walks in nature, play board games, or do whatever else we find worthwhile together.
We practice mindful speech and deep listening at all our gatherings in order to nourish each other and learn to connect with people in a healthy way. We are also mindful of what we consume in order to help nourish and preserve our health and the planet’s health. All our events are alcohol, tobacco, drug, and animal product free.
We look forward to meeting and spending time with you.
Wake Up Tampa Bay is a mindfulness and meditation group for people in their 20s and 30s.
Join us for our biweekly meditation and discussion in the Meditation Hall of the Florida Community of Mindfulness Practice Center.
We will guide you through a 20-30 minute sitting meditation, followed by 10 minutes of walking meditation. Then we will read from a Dharma book together, discuss the teachings and share how we apply them to our life.
Arrive late or leave early as needed. Afterwards we usually hang out for awhile with herbal tea and snacks.
There is no charge for this event.
If you have any questions, please email Bryan at [masked].
*All Wake Up Tampa Bay events are alcohol, drug, and animal product free. Everyone in their 20s and 30s is welcome, but we ask that all who come do so with a clear mind and an open heart. Please leave cynicism and offensive speech at the door, and if you are intoxicated or otherwise under the influence, we ask that you wait for another time to join us.
The building's address is difficult to see. It is an old church painted green. If you are coming from Hillsborough Ave. turn right one Lambright just past the Swann Motel. If you are coming from Busch, turn left on Lambright just before the Swann Motel. We are your first left off of Lambright.
