Meeting Theme: Chinese Lunar New Year Celebration Feb 1- 15, 2022

The largest human exodus in history is about to take place in the weeks and days leading up to the dawn of the Lunar New Year on Feb 1, 2022. Millions of people on the Chinese mainland will leave the cities (their place of work) to return to their rural hometowns or ancestral villages to meet with families in a joyous and heartwarming reunion.

What is perhaps less well known is that not only in China but across Asia, this celebration also known as the Spring Festival, is ardently observed by large Chinese communities (diaspora) in countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, South Korea, Vietnam and Mongolia.

Come join us at Walk The Talk on February 9 as we usher in this auspicious occasion with drinks and titbits. Yan Yan, our in-house expert on Chinese culture, will regale us with stories of how she spends this favorite time of the year with family and friends. If you like, you can take part in a quiz to test your knowledge of Chinese New Year traditions & customs.
