• Lacamas Heritage Trail

    Needs a location

    Join a group lead 5K or 10K walk. Route is on Heritage Trail, a lovely wooded nature path meandering through old growth trees, native plants and seasonal wildflowers. Walk beside beautiful Lacamas Lake and Camas Meadows Golf Course, located in eastern Clark County and straddling the border between Vancouver and Camas. Fine gravel, wood chips, and paved paths. These walks are rated 1B, easy. We walk about 3 miles per hour.

    Registration starts at 9:45 am to 9:55 am.
    Please arrive early to sign in so the walks can start at 10 am.

  • Lake Oswego Neighborhoods

    Needs a location

    Join a group lead 5K or 10K walk. The walk takes you through several parks with trails, into very nice residential neighborhoods and goes past the Portland Oregon Temple (LDS Temple). You will continue through more nice neighborhoods on your return to the finish.

    These walks are rated 2B, moderate hills [masked] elevation) on well-groomed trails. We walk about 3 miles per hour.

  • Northwest Regional Conference MeetUp

    The Oregon Trail State Volkssporting Association and Rogue Valley Walkers proudly invite you to attend the 16-19 Jun 2022 Northwest Regional Conference in Ashland, OR. Details and registration material are at this website: https://www.walking4fun.org/. This fun walking event will provide a daily featured 5km and 10km guided walk in Ashland (16 Jun), Jacksonville (17 Jun), Medford (18 Jun), and Casey State Park (19 Jun). All featured daily walks and 3 additional self-guided challenge 5km/10km hikes in the Rogue River Gorge, Grizzly Peak, and Mount Ashland Meadows, a peaceful bike along the Bear Creek Greenway and a swim will be available throughout the 16-19 June conference on a map-only basis. Maps and directions will be available at the Registration table through the duration of the conference from 7:00 am-4:00 pm in the Ashland Hills Hotel & Suites, 2525 Ashland St, Ashland OR. Cost is $15 Conference Registration Fee, plus $3 for each walking/hiking event.

    Ashland: Forest Therapy with Shakespeare. Brief walk through the downtown past the Allen Elizabethan Theater, following the Shakespeare Stairs into Lithia Park. **No dogs allowed in the park. Thurs, 16 Jun Guided Group Walk at 8:30 am.
    Jacksonville: Gold Mining Trails and Town. Meander through the Jacksonville Woodlands Park, Beebe Woods and Applegate Trails. Read historic signs about the rich Jacksonville history. Fri, 17 Jun Guided Group Walk at 8:30 am.
    Medford: Medford Meander. Pleasant walk through city parks, quaint neighborhoods, ad along the Bear Creek Greenway. Sat, 18 Jun Guided Group Walk at 8:30 am.
    Casey Sate Park: Walk along the Rogue River in a scenic State Park located 29 miles northeast of Medford. Sun, 19 Jun Guided Group Walk at 9:30 am.
    Grizzly Peak: Moderate hike featuring beautiful wildflowers and spectacular views of Ashland, Mount Shasta, and the surrounding Rogue Valley.
    Mount Ashland Meadows: Moderate subalpine hike along a segment of the Pacific Crest Trail traversing the Siskiyou’s highest peak with bountiful wildflowers and breathtaking views of Mount Shasta.
    Rogue River Gorge: Wild and scenic walk along the Rogue River, with amazing views of gushing water.
    Bear Creek Greenway Bike: Cruise past forests, farms, and fields through several ecosystems and along the meandering Bear Creek.
    To enhance your conference experience, the Rogue Valley Walkers will have all 11 of their year-round event directions available throughout the conference. As a special treat, after the conference on Mon, 20 Jun, a walk will be offered at Crater Lake National Park. Sign up at the Conference Registration.
    Event fees are kept low to make our events affordable. Your donations are greatly appreciated, as they enable the local club and state association to continue providing Volkssport events for all to enjoy.

  • Browns Ferry Park

    Needs a location

    Join us for a 5K or 10K guided walk. The route is mostly on sidewalks and asphalt trails with some sections of gravel trail. The walk consists of two loops. Loop 1 takes you through Atfalati Park where you can learn about some area history. On Loop 2, walk on a greenway trail along the Tualatin River to continue through Browns Ferry Park and into nice Tualatin neighborhoods. These walks are rated 1A, easy.

  • North - University of Portland

    Needs a location

    Join us for a 6K or 10K guided walk. The walk will go along residential streets with views of the Willamette River, into the University of Portland Campus and pass by or go into three city parks. These walks are rated 1A, easy.

    Sign in from 9:45 - 9:55 am. (signup on Buchannan St.) Please arrive early to sign in so the walk can start at 10 am.

    Please park on the streets.
