    Fort Vancouver National Historic Site | Visitor Center

    Join a group lead 5K or 10K walk with an optional lunch. The route highlights the relationship of Vancouver to the Columbia River. It goes to the new waterfront development which includes restaurants, a spectacular water feature, playground, and unique overwater pier. The 10 km route follows the Renaissance Trail upstream passing the Statue of Princess Ilchee & an artistic display honoring the women who worked in the shipyards during WW II. Both 10 & 5 km routes finish by going over the Land Bridge with views of Pearson Airfield and Mt. Hood. These walks are rated 1A, easy. We walk about 3 miles per hour. Please arrive early to sign in so the walks can start at 10 am.     Enjoy a 5K or 12K SELF GUIDED walk. Challenge yourself with the heartbreaker 12K walk rated 3C [masked] elevation gain) with some significant hill or stair climbing on rocky/rooted paths OR a 5K walk rated 1A, easy. Walk on sidewalks, paths, trails and up approximately 900 stairs while exploring Northwest Portland and Washington Park. You will be given a map, directions and the route will be Street marked as well. You may start these walks anytime from 9am to 12pm, but must finish by 3pm. Directions:1040 NW 22nd Avenue, Portland. I-5: Exit onto I-405 and US 30W. Take US 30W to NW Vaughn St exit. Left on NW 23rd Ave. Left on NW Northrup.     Willamette Wanderers is hosting this walk that focuses on residential High Street & the Gaiety Hill-Bush Pasture Park Historic District with its attractive residences/gardens. The traditional event walk has been modified . The 5K, rated 1A, has one hill; the 10K remains a 2A. Walk on paved & gravel/wood chip paths. All walkers must register before start of the walk. Walk beside beautiful Lacamas Lake and Camas Meadows Golf Course, located in eastern Clark County and straddling the border between Vancouver and Camas. Fine gravel, wood chips, and paved paths.     Join a group lead 5K or 10K walk with an optional lunch. See the Korean War Veterans Memorial in the Town Center Park and walk through pleasant neighborhoods. The trail passes Wilsonville High School and continues to Memorial Park where you will walk on wooded trails by the Willamette River. These walks are rated 2B, moderate hills on well groomed trails (500 to 1500 feet). We walk about 3 miles per hour. Please arrive early to sign in so the walks can start at 10 am.     Join a group lead 5K or 10K walk with an optional lunch. Mt Talbert, one of a group of extinct volcanoes in the Portland area, is a beautiful undeveloped butte in Clackamas County. Along with wildlife and abundant vegetation, a revitalized oak savanna and wet prairie meadow are in the park. The park offers miles of hiking trails, information about the cultural and natural resources found there and great access to nature close to home. A short easy trail to a small native prairie that blooms in the spring is at the nature center. The 10K walk is rated 2B, moderate and the 5K is rated 1A, easy. We walk about 3 miles per hour. Please arrive early to sign in so the walks can start at 10 am. The optional lunch will be at Gustav's Pub and Grill 3 blocks from finish.     This delightful 10K walk goes through historic downtown district with emphasis on its public art, nice older residential areas & Linfield College; 5K focuses on downtown & the public art. Three other nearby YREs: Dallas (25 miles SW) & Independence/Monmouth (28 miles south). All walkers must register, please arrive a few minutes early to register before start of the walk. DIRECTIONS: 310 NE Evans St., McMinnville, OR [masked], open 24/7. Going North on 99W (Baker St), right on 3rd. Going South on 99W (Adams St), left on 3rd. Two hour downtown parking restrictions but free parking at 5th/Davis parking garage or public parking at church lot at 2nd/Evans. Use Evans entrance of Hotel; walk box located on floor to the right of information table opposite registration desk.
