Parking is $1/hour. The Lee County Parks parking sticker is also accepted here. Wednesday Afternoon Walk at Four Mile Cove Eco Preserve

Four Mile Cove Ecological Park

Let's meet at Four Mile Cove Eco Preserve in Cape Coral, at the Veteran's Memorial, right next to the Midpoint Bridge at 2:55 pm on Wednesday. Masks are highly recommended. Please be considerate of your fellow walkers. If we all follow the recommended guidelines, we can do this safely. We will begin walking promptly at 3:00 pm. This is a short easy walk on a boardwalk through the mangroves and a short mostly shaded trail, with some very nice wildlife observation opportunities. I will do the loop twice, for those who wish for a longer walk (around 4 miles). Parking is free. We will meet in the shade of the pavilion. We'll begin our walk from the cul-de-sac at the end of the road. There is a nice description at: http://floridahikes.com/fourmilecove Enjoy the walk! Gwynne

Sunset/Full Moon Walk on Fort Myers Beach

Main Street Parking

The beach, the sunset, the full moon and some exercise - how can you beat that!? We can make it safe by following guidelines: Please maintain a proper distance, and masks are recommended. We'll park at the "Main Street Parking Lot" at 796 San Carlos Dr, Fort Myers Beach, FL. This is the trolley pick-up lot just BEFORE you get to the bridge to Fort Myers Beach, on the right (despite what your GPS might say). Stay in the 'right turn only' lane, and you will turn at the last right before the bridge, the parking lot will then be immediately on your left Parking is free. We will meet in this parking lot at 5:10 pm. As a courtesy to those who are timely, and to be able to watch the sunset, we will begin walking promptly at 5:15 pm. We will WALK OVER THE BRIDGE, then walk on the beach from the Pier. Sunset will be at 6:06 pm, so we can watch the sunset as we walk to the right of the pier. The full moon rises at 5:09 pm, so we should see the moon as we return. Those who prefer NOT to walk over the bridge, we can meet you near the clock in front of the pier at about 5:30 pm. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU PLAN TO MEET US THERE so we won't be waiting for you in the parking lot. I hope to see you there! Gwynne PS. Look for this sign in the corner of the trolley pick-up parking lot where we will meet.
