What we're about

This group is for animal lovers who want to improve their own and their pets' health through walking. We want to encourage pet owners (yes, cat owners, too!) to get out and exercise. Our intention is to meet new animal loving friends and have fun enjoying the outdoors.

It is NOT necessary to bring a dog, just that you be willing to walk with them!

Longford Park and Reynold's Dog Park- route along canal

Longford Park/Reynolds Dog Park

PLEASE WEAR A MASK. I realize we are outside but sometimes it is hard to stay 6 feet apart when your dog wants to go closer. This week we will walk along the canal. The trail in this direction is dirt and gravel and tends to get fewer bike riders. We will go out about 1.5 miles and then come back the way we came, for a total of 3 miles. We will be meeting near the dog park, come early and let your dog play off lead in the dog park. Start Time: We will start hiking promptly at the scheduled time. Duration of the walk – depends on the people and dogs in the group. We frequently end up walking in smaller packs based on the comfort level of the participants. In the past this walk takes about 1 hour. Please remember pooh bags and that your dog must be on a leash that is no more than 10 feet long. Facilities: There are bathrooms at the dog park NOTICE: By attending this event you are agreeing that YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY AT ALL TIMES. The hike leader and other members cannot be held responsible for any damages, accidents, or liabilities incurred while hiking with us.
