Goal Achievers Toastmasters
Giving a presentation? Interviewing? Leading a seminar? Want to enhance your skills? Please come join us! Spend a Monday evening with a group of friendly, supportive public speakers! At Toastmasters, we try out presentations and receive valuable feedback from supportive, experienced members. We have fun exercises --you will get better at thinking on your feet and learn to express yourself persuasively. Goal Achievers is a Toastmasters club, but not your average Toastmasters club. We're one of the smaller clubs in the area, which gives members opportunities to speak more often. This allows you to make progress faster. Our average meeting has between 5 and 10 people in attendance. • We use Meetup as a way of attracting new members. This Meetup site is NOT our primary website. Please visit our primary site for more details about the club: Feel free to come to a few meetings and check us out - no charge! Sign in at the Lobby Desk as you arrive.

What we're about

This group is for anyone looking to improve their communication and leadership skills. A Toastmasters meeting is a learn-by-doing workshop in which participants hone their speaking and leadership skills in a no-pressure atmosphere. There is no instructor in a Toastmasters meeting. Instead, members evaluate one another’s presentations. This feedback process is a key part of the program’s success. Meeting participants also give impromptu talks on assigned topics, conduct meetings and develop skills related to timekeeping, grammar and parliamentary procedure. Members learn communication skills by working in the Competent Communication manual, a series of 10 self-paced speaking assignments designed to instill a basic foundation in public speaking.
