Looking for a casual group of down to earth runners who enjoy hitting the trails just as much as pounding the pavement? Looking for a competitive group of runners who enjoy running races varying from 5K’s to full marathons? Then look no further than a running group that offers the best of both worlds, Waltham Trail Runners! Whether you’re seeking leisurely runs around the Boston area, or crave a more competitive speed or hill workout, Waltham Trail Runners doles out a little bit of everything!

Monday nights are the hill run through Prospect Hill. Post run munchies are either at Jake and Joes or Copper House. Check the schedule for location.

Tuesday evening runs start at 6:45 pm from Embassy park to the left of the Garcia Brogans in Waltham. We run between 4 and 6 miles, and finish it all off with beers and munchies post-run. All running abilities welcome.

Thursday evening runs are approximately 4 miles, starting at Shoppers at 7pm. Route varies each week. Maps are handed out at the beginning of the run. All running abilities welcome as well.

On the weekends, we schedule more running opportunities, including a 2-3 mile beginner run Saturday morning at 10am, some trail runs and sometime longer runs along Comm Ave. Check the schedule to see the full list of runs. Thursday Night Run for Thirsty Runners (3-6 Miles, All Levels!)

Shopper's Cafe Bar & Grille

We'll run routes along the Charles River Greenway, Riverwalk, Newton and neighborhoods of Waltham, with options to extend for those who are looking to add distance (or end early!) Afterward we'll hop into the bar for post-run drinks. We meet in front of Shoppers Cafe and leave at 7:00p. There should be plenty of parking on the street and in the neighborhood. All levels are welcome, with a broad range of paces! Runs are typically 3-5 miles. As our daylight becomes more limited, it is highly recommended to at least wear bright clothing, and also to consider bringing a reflective vest and/or lamp. See you there!

Beginner 2 Mile Run from Cafe on the Common - all levels welcome

We'll run from the cafe to the river path, go west to Prospect Street, and double back along the river. Finishing up with one loop around the common to make it an even 2 miles. Since it's an out and back we can spread out at different paces to accommodate beginner to advanced runners, but still start and finish together. Coffee/goodies at the cafe afterwards is also optional but highly recommended :-). This is a great way to get into running, introduce your friends to the group, or just start your Saturday on a high note. All ages and levels welcome. If you are hesitating to come, keep in mind that nearly every week we have beginning runners who use a run/walk/run technique. If you take walk breaks you will probably not be alone, and it's the best way to get into running, so come on out!

Lincoln Trail Run

Donelan's Supermarket

This is a 5.5 mile run through bucolic Lincoln with a 3.5 mile option. We will run through woods, fields and neighborhoods and finish the run at a local coffee shop. The pace ranges from 8.5 to 10.5 min/mile but all runners are welcome. We don't leave anyone behind.

Mighty Squirrel 4 Miler 🐿🍺

Location visible to members

4 mile loop around the Fernald. We will run up to Trapelo Rd, left on Forest St, left on Beaver, and left back onto Waverley Oaks. After we can enjoy a pint at Mighty Squirrel. 🐿 🍺 🏃🏽‍♀️ 🏃🏿 This is a run with rolling hills.
