What we're about

I am a Norwegian living in London - I am addicted to nature - and I want to share this enthusiasm with other like minded people who also feel a sense of pure joy and euphoria when spending time outdoors. I am a firm believer in that nature holds the solution to a calm and balanced mind, and that either walking, cycling, running or just simply taking the time to sit still and be present outdoors can relieve stress and worries.

Update 17th November 2020:

--> As you have probably felt in both your body and mind, these past few months have not been quite as usual. I chose to spend a good amount of time back in Norway this year, where I have easy access to nature which is so important to me.

If you´d like to see some pictures from Norway - but also previous trips and events - then tune in to my Instagram account for a fresh breath of nature updates from me, as I do post there quite regularly. There are some breathtaking fjord pictures there as well, I promise.

I shall continue my usual weekend day hikes out and about in the beautiful English countryside as soon as Lockdown 2.0 is over and we´re allowed to meet up again, so keep an eye on my page if you´d like to join!

Wanderlust Walks is all about mindful walking and hiking (and the occasional yoga, cycling and kayaking trip too) both in the U.K. and in my home country Norway. In addition, I will also be looking to do a hiking trip to Italy in 2021 where we shall be enjoying Italy's amazing food, wine and rolling hills.

Another hiking paradise of mine is the Lake District in Cumbria, England. A place we have been returning to several times. A new trip is due in May 2021 if everything goes according to plan (Covid-19 wise).

On another note; last summer (2019), Wanderlust had its first trips to both Oslo and Lofoten in Norway where we did kayaking and hiking, and watched the midnight sun from the beach. This year we have returned to Lofoten in March (just before Norway closed its borders, so we were incredibly lucky) for a winter and Northern Lights trip! A truly unforgettable experience.

In addition, we have also had our very first (and very successful!) Yoga & Hiking weekend in Pembrokeshire in Wales last year, which was an absolute dream that I wish to be able to repeat as soon as time permits.

I shall continue my usual weekend day hikes out and about in the beautiful English countryside as soon as Lockdown 2.0 is over and we´re allowed to meet up again, so keep an eye on my page if you´d like to join!

I hope some of my upcoming trips will trigger your wanderlust, and that you´d like to join me for a few days of guided hiking in our wondrous nature - together with like minded people who share your passion for being outdoors.

I have added my contact details below; don't hesitate to reach out should you have any questions at all.

LOFOTEN / NORWAY - Fjords & The Midnight Sun

Ballstad

£570.00

LOFOTEN / NORWAY, 15th - 19th JULY 2021 Number of nights - 4 Cost - £570 per person in a shared fisherman´s cabin (rorbu) We are arranging our 3rd trip to the Lofoten archipelago this summer, so save the date and come join us for when we travel to the land of the Vikings to see the midnight sun, hike the spectacular mountains with views over the fjords, kayak between picturesque islands, visit the Viking Museum and road-trip to villages and white sandy beaches off the beaten track. Every outing in this region is framed by rugged mountain tops that rise straight from the sea. ******************************** We have managed to secure a few beds at a wonderful, traditional fisherman's lodge where we will be staying in real fishermen´s cabins (´rorbu´) right down by the pier, overlooking the majestic Lofoten mountains. This lodge is located in Ballstad, the central part of Lofoten, which has the most dramatic scenery. The fisherman´s lodges come with a private bathroom and kitchen, so that we can cook our own food. Sleeping arrangements will be determined closer to the time and will be based on rsvp numbers and the future Covid-19 situation. The price will include: 🔹 4 nights accommodation in a "rorbu", a real fisherman's cabin 🔹 All transportation on the island 🔹 Guided 3 hour kayak trip with professional kayak instructor, all equipment will be provided + hot drinks and snack. (You can opt out) 🔹 Guided hikes (a reasonable level of fitness is needed). 🔹 Road trip and guided sightseeing, visiting the charming villages of Reine and Å; the southernmost point on mainland Lofoten. 🔹 Entrance to the Viking Museum 🔹 Roadtrip to the famous Haukland Beach, with its crystal clear water and white sands The price does not include: Meals are not included - to keep costs down we will be sharing food expenses and prepare most of our meals at the accommodation, but might go out for dinner on a few occasions. Flight tickets - normally £250 return. Check price via skyscanner.net. Be aware that the price is currently exceptionally high due to Covid-19 and lockdown in both countries, but we´re obviously hoping that this will have normalised itself in a few months time. Do NOT book flight tickets until we have confirmed the trip! On this trip we will also get to know Lofoten’s colorful fishing villages with the characteristic “rorbuer” (of which we will be staying in one), local handicrafts, food, and rich history that dates back to the Vikings. The exact program for this lovely long-weekend will be planned closer to the time, with some of the activites being weather dependent. If you choose not to participate in the kayak trip, the fee of approx £60 will be deducted from your total price. Keep in mind that this is the price per November 2020 and may change or fluctuate depending on the exchange rate. *********************** NB: Due to the current Covid-19 situation, no pre-payment will be required until we are approaching spring 2021. I will get back to all of you with payment details closer to the time. PAYMENT WILL THEN SECURE YOUR BED.
