What we're about

Welcome to “WannaDo Campers, Kayakers, Bikers & Hikers” an outdoor group for adults.

If you enjoy the fresh air, sitting around a campfire sharing stupid jokes and silly stories, chilling out with a good book or catching a nap, then this group is for you. All moods of camping are welcomed; tents, pop-ups, trailers or just a matt & a sleeping bag, please join us.

For all scheduled trips each camper is responsible for making and paying for his / her campsite. Camping in Indiana is getting more popular so make your reservation early. Its requested that when you RSVP please let us know your site number so we can find you.

If you RSVP "yes" for an event and not show up or cancel, you may disappoint others who are looking forward to seeing you. This is an adult camping group and I expect the members to be responsible and respectable of other campers and park rules. Party people who get a little too loud or out of hand may be asked to leave an event.

All camper need to provide their own camping gear & meals. It would be nice to have one site designated for the “Group Camp Fire” usually on Saturday night. Each camper might be asked to bring one or two pieces of firewood for the “Group Camp Fire”

Responsible Adults of all ages are welcome (please leave the babies with the sitter) Dogs are welcomed as long as you obey the leash laws of the park and you clean up your dog’s business! Do not leave your dog’s alone, the barking will make others nuts! Non responsible pet owner will be asked to please leave or remove their pet from the camp ground.

No side trips will be scheduled but feel free to suggest and organize your own events; hikes, bike rides, flea markets, kayak or canoe trips, etc. If you know of any events going on in the area that other campers might like, please suggest away.

There are no dues but a contribution of a buck or two to help pay for the group would be appreciated. Occasionally I will require advanced payment for an event I have to pay for up front, but I have nothing in mind as of now.

Any and all suggestions on places to camp or other events are welcomed. Indiana has a lot of County Parks, Preserves, Lakes & Private camp grounds. I’m not big on State Parks on weekends or camping on holidays only because the camp ground is usually filled with kids, pets & “weekend campers”.

Please be kind to Mother Earth, “Take Nothing but Pictures, Leave Nothing but Foot Prints”
