Washington Apple Pi Afternoon Learners SIG

Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Church

Join us for this work week meeting of the Pi, in our regular Bethesda classroom space. https://www.wap.org/retired/ Afternoon Learners are members of Washington Apple Pi (http://wap.org) who use this time and place to increase technical skill by sharing presentations of what they've found to make the mobile Apple device and Mac their favorite devices. Agendas will be added closer to the meetup. Notice of our meetings also goes out via Pi Announce List messages - a list for Pi Members - so if you're not on the Announce List, let me know - and the Pi's Facebook Page Visitors and newcomers are welcome. Bring a friend! About the SIG The Afternoon Learners SIG welcomes anyone who has time available during the day. For that reason, our meetings take place from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM on the second Thursday of each month. There are occasions when meetings have to be shifted so please be sure to check the Pi calendar (http://www.wap.org/calendar/) for the latest information. We try to help our members get more enjoyment out of their iPhones and iPads by providing simple tutorials and demos and friendly collegial meetings. Pi General Meeting (4th Saturday)

George Mason University

General Meeting of the Pi These meetings take place usually on the 4th Saturday of the Month. They are the Pi's most formal meeting, usually with an interesting live or remote speaker. The meetings begin with a freewheeling Q&A panel, of Roy Wagner and Bruce Brown. Pi president Jonathan Bernstein talks club business, then we recess to a coffee social. After that, we start the formal speaker's time. Usually, these sessions start at 9:30 am and finish at noon - 12:30. Sometimes, we're lucky to have Roy Wagner command his trademark Mobile Lifestyle Sig afterward. In that case, we have subs lunch after the program, then come back for Roy's mobile session. We usually stream the meetings but haven't settled on one method of doing this, so we let people know beforehand whether we'll be streaming to the Pi's YouTube channel, or to our Twitter feed. The General Meetings take place primarily on the George Mason University campus in Fairfax VA, in rooms that PiBoard member Larry Kerschberg arranges for us. Quarterly, we bring these meetings to Bethesda, Maryland, usually to the Lounge area at Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist.
