Package Building in R

Adnan Fiaz, data science consultant at Mango Solutions, will give a talk entitled "Package Building, or How to Move like Hadley Wickham".

Talk details:

"Packages are the fundamental units of reproducible R code according to Hadley Wickham.

"And he should know as he has almost a hundred packages to his name.

"The ability to create and distribute packages is built into R and is one of the reasons for R's success in almost every industry.

"This talk will be about how you too can contribute to R's success and build your own packages.

"I will go through the most important steps using the devtools package (yes, there is a package that helps you build packages).

"Once we've then got a package ready I'll briefly talk through the extra actions you can take to truly move like Hadley Wickham."

After the talk and a question-and-answer session, some of us will go to the pub for further informal discussion. All are welcome to join.
