What we're about
Mostly this is a Foodie group. We try out new restaurants and go to food related festivals. While there is much more to do in the foodie world, we have kept this fairly simple for management reasons. We have been going for a few years and are adding things as we are comfortable. This year we are welcoming new organizers, so we will of we can inject some new thinking to the group.
A few guidelines follow:
We want to welcome as many people as we can to the group, and as such we also want to make sure people are not left out because of people's changing plans. We have issues with people dropping at the last minute or not showing up. The following guidelines are to help us get as many people to the events as we can.
Please keep your RSVP's current and timely. By timely, we generally mean a day in advance. Trying to wrangle members of the group a few hours before an event is difficult for the organizers and the those on the waitlist. If something comes up a few hours before an event, let your organizer know with a quick message and drop group. If you chronically do not show, or drop at the last minute without letting us know why, we will remove you from the group. This will left up to the organizers of your event.
Each organizer will have their own style of hosting events (Organizers add what you like about yourselves).
Robert Franz – For those of you who have asked how I manage my events, I wanted to share the following: I will try to schedule out events a few months at a time. I open RSVP's 10 days before and close them 24 hours before the event. Please share an appetizer or desert with the group once in a while. I haven't repeated a restaurant yet, but my list is getting slim.
