Hi, everyone. Please join us on June 4th for an rare opportunity to meet Chris Fregly, a Databricks Solutions Engineer and Spark Contributor and author, and hear his interesting talk on Spark After Dark! We are grateful to Neustar for sponsoring this event!

Title

Spark After Dark: Generating high quality dating recommendations using Spark's advanced analytics and streaming capabilities.

Abstract

We'll use the latest Spark libraries including Spark SQL, Data Frames, BlinkDB, Spark Streaming, MLlib (Machine Learning), and GraphX (Graph Processing). In addition, we'll cover Twitter's Algebird library for sketch algorithms, probabilistic data structures, and approximations.

Bio

Chris Fregly is a Data Solutions Engineer at Databricks focused on distributed systems, advanced analytics, high performance streaming data, machine learning, graph processing, and approximations.

He is an Apache Spark Contributor and author/reviewer of a few Spark books including Effective Spark and Advanced Analytics with Spark. Chris regularly shares knowledge at Spark/Big Data Meetups, Workshops, and Conferences across the country.

Previously, Chris was a Netflix Streaming Data Engineer and Open Source Committer. Other positions include Streaming Data Engineer at Playboy Enterprises and Distributed Systems Engineer at BEA Systems/WebLogic.
