Session Title: Azure Data Services – A Walk Through

Description: In this session we will cover the various data services in the Microsoft Azure Data Services menu, to include Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Data Warehouse, Azure Analysis Services, Azure Databricks, etc. This will be a level 100 session and brief and general description of the Azure Data Service offerings.

Speaker Info: Timothy McAliley is a Microsoft Technology Solutions Professional – or TSP for Data Platforms and Artificial Intelligence for the Northeast Enterprise Commercial Unit. Timothy has been at Microsoft for 5 and a half years, Prior to this role, Timothy was an Account Technology Strategist and a Premier Field Engineer for SQL Server/Data Platforms. Session Title: An Overview of Azure Databricks and What's New in Apache Spark 2.3

Description: In this session we'll demonstrate our new Azure Databricks service, designed in collaboration with Microsoft to combine the best of Azure and our Apache Spark based analytics platform. We'll cover some important new features in the recently released Spark 2.3, available already available on Azure Databricks, including improvements to Structured Streaming, Python, and MLLib!

Speaker: Silvio Fiorito is a Resident Solutions Architect at Databricks. He's been using Spark extensively since it’s early days back in v0.6 and delivered training, spoken at several meetups in the Washington, DC area, and presented at Spark Summit Europe. He’s worked with customers in the financial industry, digital marketing, and cyber security all using Apache Spark. In addition to Spark development, Silvio also has a background in application security and forensics.
