Talk 1: Loan Advisor Suite MongoDB Adoption
Freddie Mac Loan Advisor Suite (LAS) is our smart, end-to-end technology solution built to give our users greater certainty about the quality of your loans and provide an insight into the loans' purchase eligibility earlier in the loan production process. To increase business agility and reduce costs, LAS has adopted in some of its applications MongoDB Platform to improve efficiency and time to market. This talk will walk attendees through the transition of a heavily invested Relational DB’s enterprise company to a NoSQL Database platform, we will discuss some of the practices we have followed, and some lessons learned.
Speaker:
Alex Donate is a Freddie Mac Senior Tech Lead who is a key member of Single Family technical leadership group, architecting and leading the company in adaptation of the cutting edge technology into our mission critical systems. He leads the technology direction for the firm’s largest most visible product, with support from about 1,000 hands-on technical resources.
Talk 2: First MongoDB Application with MongoDB Atlas
During this presentation, we will take a deep dive into MongoDB Atlas, our fully managed database as a service offering. MongoDB Atlas delivers the world’s leading database for modern applications as a fully automated cloud service engineered and run by the same team that builds the database. Proven operational and security practices are built in, automating time-consuming administration tasks such as infrastructure provisioning, database setup, ensuring availability, global distribution, backups, and more. The easy-to-use UI and API let you spend more time building your applications and less time managing your database.
Speaker:
Ben Ogden is a full stack software developer with over 20 years experience designing and building distributed systems at scale. He joined MongoDB in 2016 as a Consulting Engineer, working hands on with customers to design and implement applications on MongoDB. In his current role, Ben helps customers with MongoDB architecture and adoption. Prior to joining MongoDB, Ben ran a software consultancy, and also worked as a software engineer at AWS and Marklogic.
