*November 20th, 2016, 2-6PM, master class with jazz bassist Eliot Seppa.

Welcome jazzers!  This Meetup is for adults who are interested in playing jazz in an ensemble setting.  It's a place for adults to come together to play jazz and develop their skills with the help of professional jazz musicians, and with the support of other members.

*This is not a Meetup that focuses on jam sessions.  It is a place to work under the guidance of professionals who can help us improve our skills in a band situation. (But we will also have some social events where we can eat, jam, and make connections with other players!)

Local artists will teach on a rotating basis so we have exposure to different approaches. *There is no cost to join or to observe any of the classes. This is good way to begin to feel more comfortable and to get an idea of how our Meetup is run. There is, however, a fee attached to playing in one of the classes to help cover the cost of an instructor and a rented space. All ability levels are welcome. We hope you will join us!

I am well connected to the jazz community and a huge jazz enthusiast. I'm interested in bringing people together who love to play jazz, while supporting our local jazz musicians at the same time. In my spare time, I have a website I created and maintain that is dedicated to jazz musicians and students in the Washington DC area. The Meetup location will be in the Bethesda or Rockville area, with easy access from 495.
