We are the Microsoft Access User's Group Of the Washington, D.C. Metro Area

The only user group dedicated to Microsoft Access in the Washington, D.C. Metro area


We share our experiences with Access and solutions to Access problems with our user group members.

We offer:

1. Quarterly meetings where users can gather together and discuss mutual problems.

2. On Meetup.com, where announcements are made, job openings posted, and questions posted.

3. A user group that is open to all levels of experience with Access, from beginners to experts.

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday March 20, 2019. Phone number there is 703-336-8480. We will be sharing information among attendees. If you have a specific question, please bring your Access database with you, so that we can load it and view it.

At our September 2018 meeting, we had a fantastic presentation by Tammy Barbee on Powerbuilder.

At our June 2018 meeting which was postponed to July 2018, Luke Chung, owner of FMS, told us about the current state of Microsoft Access and some of the useful tools that his company has for sale. It was a very informative meeting.

At our meeting in March 2018, we reviewed a member's Access application, offering comments. 

At our meeting in December 2017, it turned out that only experienced Access developers showed up. So, Brent demonstrated his complex Access application to the group.

At our September 2017 meeting, we talked out how Access Queries can do much of the work that we would do with code.

At our June 2016 meeting, we aided one of the attendees with her problem implementing an Access application in a group that concentrates on Sharepoint.

At our March 2016 meeting, we discussed contract work opportunities for Microsoft Access developers in our area.

The user group normally meets quarterly at 7pm-9pm on the third Wednesday (except December, which is the second Wednesday) of the last month of each quarter.  After our March 2019 meeting, our next scheduled meetings are Wednesday June 19, 2019 and Wednesday September 18, 2019. Unless we have a guest speaker, our meetings consist of sharing information among attendees. Beginning users go first, then experienced users.

We meet at the Tysons Corner Mall Microsoft Store, 1961 Chain Bridge Road, Tysons Corner Virginia, 22102. These are directions for the Microsoft Store--From the Capital Beltway exit 47A, take the ramp right for VA-7 West toward Tysons Corner. Turn right onto International Dr. Turn right onto VA-123N / Chain Bridge Road. Arrive at VA-123 North Chain Bridge Road.

Membership

To become a member of the Microsoft Access Special Interest Group, use Meetup.com and do the following:

1. Once on meetup.com, sign up for Meetup.com if you are not already a member.

2. Log in (if you are a member.)

3. Click on "Groups".

4. On the bar with "Groups" on it, change the "within miles" to 100.

5. In the search bar field, enter, "Washington Microsoft Access Meetup".
