Recap and small update

We had our 4th RPGala today and all was good. 8 of us were able to get into the building early and get everything set up. So when everyone else arrived the tables, chairs, and signs were ready to go and gaming commenced promptly. Things got pretty loud and raucous so I assume a great time was had in each of the games. We had 38 people there which was a good turnout. There were a lot of new faces there, it was good to see new members turning out for the afternoon.

I played in Don't Rest Your Head which was run by Kurt. Its by the same people that did Spirit of the Century. It was a cool Indie Game with simple, easy to understand rules. The setting of the game was quite bizarre (as befits a game about insomnia and insanity) and I found myself quickly playing my character as if he were in 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas' but a little more crazy and a lot more violent. He even accused a priest at one point of putting LSD in the Communion wafers. Ah yes, quite fun. Kurt did a great job as GM and I'd like to play this game again. People who want something fun should definitely check out 'Don't Rest Your Head'.

We had food from Potbelly Sandwich works again, which was good. Again. They shorted us on Diet Cokes but otherwise I can't complain.

Our next RPGala is on Sunday, April 27th. We are changing locations for this one. We will be at the Westend Neighborhood Library in Foggy Bottom. As a note, the MLK Jr. Library is no longer a viable location for our meetings after May. New restrictions on room reservations limit us to 4 hours max, even on Saturdays. I'm not a big fan of that so we'll try this new location.

Games for April (tentatively!) are: 2 D&D 3.5 games, Exalted, Deadlands, GURPS, Champions, and Khymir (fantasy game). If you have yet to attend an RPGala or if you haven't been to one lately, what are you waiting for? Its a lot of fun and a great, entertaining way to spend a Sunday afternoon! RSVP here: April RPGala

PS-Our next event is the Battlestar Galactica-thon. RSVP here: Battlestar Galactica-thon

PPS-I will be sending out all the points that were discussed at the Steering Committee Meeting with the April Update. We had a lot of good ideas and I'm excited about the changes and additions we will be making!
