September Update and RPGala

September Update and RPGala

Hi all, so things are back on track. We were held up a bit because of logistics at the West End Library. For those who went to previous RPGalas at West End you will remember there was a small room and a large room. Things were quite loud in the small room but the library had no tables in the large room. So... I have donated 6 folding tables to the library to be used in the large room and make things better for the RPGala. It was a long process because the library had to take a long time to figure out whether or not they could accept the donation. But they have, so we're good. Almost.

I just need a little help from some of you. First, I have never charged dues, barely charged anything for food at events, and I have taken on all associated costs of the Meetup. Which I am happy to do. However, in light of my business/financial troubles recently, I would like to ask any of you who feel so moved to make a donation for the purchase of the tables. The total cost of the tables was roughly $350. Any amount of donation would be much appreciated.

Second, if any of you own an SUV or pickup truck, it would be great if you could help me take the tables over to the library this Saturday as they won't fit in my car. Your help would be wonderful.

Once this is done, we are set to get back to having monthly RPGalas starting in November. For all the new members (there are a lot of you), the RPGala is a 5 hour event on a Saturday afternoon (usually) that consists of 6 or so RPGs covering a wide variety of systems and genres. Most of the games are one shots but we do have campaigns sometimes as well. We are always looking for GMs so if you'd like to run a game, let me know. Anyway, 30 some of us get together, game, and have a good time. If you haven't been to one before, check it out.

For October, I will be hosting a horror themed gaming event at my house in Oakton, Virginia (between Vienna and Fairfax). Yes, I can pick people up at the Vienna metro stop on the orange line. I think we will have 4 or 5 games. I will be running a game of Call of Cthulhu/Delta Green. I'll pick a date later tonight. If you are interested in GMing a game for this, contact me ASAP. It can be any game system you want it just has to be Halloween/Horror related.

I'm also going to try and schedule some other Halloween goodness for all the members who, like me, think Halloween is the best thing ever.
