Women in Arts: Watercolour Workshop
Grünberger Straße, Grünberger Str., Berlin, BE, DE### Inspired by Her: A Watercolour Workshop Celebrating Women Artists
This March, in celebration of International Women’s Day, join us for a special four-week watercolour journey inspired by extraordinary women in art from around the world.
Together, we’ll explore the styles, stories, and creative voices of four incredible artists:
- Kenojuak Ashevak – surreal animals and vibrant imagination
- Alma Thomas – joyful abstraction and rhythmic colour
- Lyubov Popova – bold cubist forms and dynamic compositions
- Cecily Brown – expressive movement and fast, emotional brushwork
(order may vary — Cecily Brown is featured in our cover image!)
Each week, we’ll dive into one artist’s world—learning about her life and creative approach, observing her work, and translating those inspirations into our own original watercolour paintings.
You’ll experiment with pointillism, cubism, surrealism, and abstraction while discovering playful watercolour techniques like layering, loose strokes, and expressive mark-making. This is about creative exploration, not copying—step by step, you’ll develop your own unique pieces inspired by these powerful voices.
✨ No previous painting experience needed. Gentle guidance provided throughout.
The workshop includes four classes, but you’re also welcome to join individual sessions (when available).

A Women’s Circle & Watercolour Workshop
Grünberger Straße, Grünberger Str., Berlin, BE, DE## What Does Equality Look Like? A Women’s Circle & Watercolour Workshop
In this intimate two-hour women’s circle, we will gather to create, reflect, and connect through watercolour painting inspired by vintage feminist posters and historic movements such as the Women's March and International Women's Day.
We’ll begin by exploring powerful imagery and messages from past feminist struggles. Together, we’ll reflect on the fights that came before us, the freedoms we’ve inherited, and the work that still remains.
Through guided prompts and open conversation, you’ll be invited to share:
- Your personal relationship with feminism
- The women and movements that shaped you
- What equality means in your life today
- Your hopes for the future
Then, using watercolours, you’ll create your own vision of Future Feminism — whether that’s a symbolic poster, a soft imagined landscape of equality, powerful words layered in colour, or an abstract expression of freedom.
This workshop is not about artistic perfection. It is about expression, connection, memory, and possibility.
Let's meet and create together! Meaningful conversation and art as a way to resist, fight and create!

Tuesday 13.03 from 6 to 8 PMWhere:

Watercolours for Beginners - Practise Group
Grünberger Straße, Grünberger Str., Berlin, BE, DEIf you’re just starting out with watercolours—maybe you’ve painted a bit at home or followed a tutorial or two, but still feel a little lost—I think you’re going to like this!
First, we’ll practice wet-on-wet, layering washes, colour mixing, transparency and more. After this first part of the class, once you’ve discovered a few watercolour effects, you’ll have time to practise them by applying them to simple shapes (animals, plants, etc.) that I’ll provide. With the help of examples—and my guidance, of course—you’ll practise alongside other watercolour enthusiasts, supporting and learning from one another.
No previous experience needed—just curiosity and a willingness to explore.
