Jessica Cichra, Owner, CEO, Instructor, Race Director:
Biography:
With a degree in psychology and interest in helping people achieve mental wellness combined with a background in physical fitness as an instructor and personal trainer, I started my own business: Wave of Wellness was born with a mission to expose clients to fun lifestyle activities that enhance all areas of well-being, with a focus on SUP and yoga.
Through an intense study and practice of Body Dialogue yoga my chronic back pain was healed. Excited to share my success with others I currently use its principles of postural alignment, core-stabilization, breath and energy direction, as a unique platform for instructing SUP, yoga, and Bala Tula – a yoga fusion program I developed in 2010.
Deeply involved in the SUP racing circuit as an athlete and wanting to build the local paddle racing community I founded and direct the Annual Lake Mary Jane Paddle Race in 2012 and the original Florida weekly race series Paddle Race Tuesdays in 2013.
My love for adventure and travel inspired me to take my instruction abroad, teaching national and international SUP Yoga and Bala Tula clinics as well as organizing and facilitating international SUP and yoga retreats where I offer clients the ultimate experience of adventure, inner peace, personal growth, physical fitness, and community.
My involvement and lifestyle in the SUP and yoga industry has given me the opportunity to contribute written articles and instructional videos to Stand Up Journal, Boarders Magazine, Samata Magazine, Women’s Health Magazine Mexico, Distressed Mullet, and Yoga Digest, and be a proud brand ambassador for:
• prAna
• Werner Paddles
• Local Honey Designs
With the experience and knowledge gained from earning the following certifications I’ve created an adaptive teaching style to custom fit the needs of my clients:
• CPT, Certified Personal Trainer

The Chaz River and Springs Paddle Tour
Chassahowitzka River Campground, 8600 W Miss Maggie Dr, Homosassa, FL, USKnown to locals as the Chaz, the beautiful Chassahowitzka river has 4 unique springs to explore with underwater tubes to swim through!
Advanced Registration Required on Eventbrite -> https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-chaz-river-and-springs-paddle-tour-tickets-1378368981729
This paddle exploring the Chaz River will take you to 4 different springs, up a narrow creek, into coves, on a short hike, and swimming through limestone tunnels! Our tours are longer than most, giving ample time to explore and enjoy each spring, and stop and smell the water lilies! Guiding and instructing stand up paddleboard tours since 2010, we have the experience and knowledge to ensure the best adventure!
Your friendly guide will assign you to quality and fitted paddleboard gear, go over water safety, and give a land-lesson to any beginner paddlers (orienting you with gear and paddling technique). Then we'll launch the boards from the ramp and begin our tour. We'll paddle the lush river to an incredible, unique underwater formation called Seven Sisters Springs. Here, you'll discover your inner mermaid or aquaman and swim through shallow, flute-like tubes made of limestone. You can choose to swim through short sections, or go for longer ones when you’re comfortable. Once refreshed, we’ll paddle to another spring, bordered by red aquatic plants, that resembles an iris and is appropriately nicknamed The Eye. Then, we'll seek a hidden emerald spring called The Crack. Accessible only by paddle craft or flats boat, it's at the end of a narrow, winding creek, opening up to a green-blue pool surrounded by forest. It’s a place you’d imagine a siren would live, and you may just spot one! Other wildlife sightings include jumping mullet, swimming blue crab, a variety of birds, and the occasional manatee and otter! We'll stop for a swim here, climb some trees, and eat our snacks. After we've had our fill, we'll paddle back to boat ramp.
Stand Up Paddle Skill Level: Beginner to Advanced - instruction included. Must know how to swim and be confident on the water. Kids 12 years old and under may ride along with an experienced adult for free.

Rainbow River Paddle Tour
Rainbow Wonderland, 9065 Southwest 190th Avenue Road, Dunnellon, FL, USPaddle and snorkel one of the clearest rivers in Florida, walk the lush state park gardens, and relax at a private riverside oasis!
Advanced Registration and Payment Required via Eventbrite -> https://www.eventbrite.com/e/rainbow-river-paddle-tour-tickets-1754721652699
Rainbow River is famous for it's remarkable water clarity, with a head spring pumping out 400-600 million gallons of pure water from the aquifer each day. This looking-glass water has attracted people for over 10,000 years, being mineral rich, refreshing (a constant 72 degrees), and incredibly beautiful - a National Natural Landmark of the The National Parks Service, one of Florida DEP's Special Waters on their list of Outstanding Florida Waters, and one of the state's Aquatic Preserves. This river supports a wide variety of wildlife and lush flora and fauna.
We'll meet at a private riverside oasis - no waiting in line or a bunch of rules for us! Our friendly instructors greet and outfit you with quality gear that's fitted to your size. After a brief safety meeting and stand up paddle instruction, we'll launch into the river. Paddling the gentle upstream current, we'll warm up and drop into the present moment as we immerse in nature. While making our way to Rainbow Springs headspring, you can expect to see many species of wading and swimming birds, turtles, fish, and playful otters; all surrounded by beautiful flowers and trees above the surface, and vibrant green grasses, white sand, and an array of blue water below.
At Rainbow Springs, we'll take plenty of time to explore this incredible, sapphire basin. We highly recommend bringing snorkel gear or goggles to submerge in the magnificent under water world of this spring. The water is so clear you won't believe your eyes. It's like swimming in an aquarium with 150 feet of visibility, tons of marine plants and animals, and sunlight casting mesmerizing reflections above and below.
Then, we'll beach our boards to explore the lush gargens in the state park on foot. You will see the old Florida Waterfalls a babbling creeks, eat snacks under the shade of an oak tree, or just lie back to absorb the rejuvenating energy of this space.
Returning to our boards, we'll float lazily downstream - a great way to leisurely snorkel with the current and take in a variety of underwater sights. We'll stop to explore several deeper, turquoise swimming holes and springs; take photos, and chill under palm trees.
Once we reach our launch site, we'll swim at the two springs located directly off the dock - one wide and deep spring; and one small, hidden spring. Then we'll relax and enjoy a picnic lunch and refreshing beverages at the picnic tables on the dock with a Rainbow Wonderland view. And for your comfort, there is an on site guest house with restroom and changing area.
